Just kidding. But a couple of people asked to see a picture of our new rescue cat. I am happy to oblige.

Kobe kitty

Kobe kitty

I don’t have the data for the exact moment we found him and brought him in. It was Sunday night, March 29th, in Arlington, Massachusetts USA, sometime between 8:40 and 9:00 at night.

I do have the data for the question my husband asked that night: Is it somebody’s cat, are they looking for him, and how long until he and they are reunited? March 29, 2009, 11:39pm EDT, Arlington. Note Lord 6 in its detriment retrograding away from Lord 7, also in Lord 6’s detriment, and both planets combust. (Note also our co-significator, the Moon, ruled by Lord 6 – we’re very interested in the kitty – and conjunct Caput Algol – we’re out of our minds. ;-) )

Are his owners looking for him?

Are his owners looking for him?

I never consider stars in longitude but this time I should agree, it’s a cat one can loose his/her head for :)

What a lovely, lucky little cat.

He’s cute! And he looks like he’s got a bit of an attitude. Love it :-)

    Hi, :)

That’s an interesting chart and a very cute cat.
Why do you take Mercury as the owner? because it rules the 7th house? Mercury in Aries seems to dislike the kitty, yet Mercury translates Venus’ light back to Sun (as in trying to return it).

Why not use Venus’ dispositor Mars as the owner?
Mars rules Venus and Sun, lord of H8, 4th from 6th (kitty’s home). Mars is in the 3rd of your neighbours or neighborhood, in Venus’ exaltation, so he absolutely adores Kobe-Cat. Or is it possible that Mars is a child that now “owns” the kitty?

Anyway, Venus and Mars will meet when Venus makes a station at 29 degrees Pisces, but only after Mars makes an opposition to Saturn in Virgo (someone in Kitty’s sign of fall?). Could Mars be leaving the neighborhood ruled by Saturn?

    Just a speculation.

  6. Margherita – thank you! He is a sweetie.

Anuradha – I agree – almost as lucky as I feel to have him.

Valerie – hey! How are you? Thanks for coming by. Say hi to everyone for me. (I think his attitude is from that half-mustache he’s got going on.)

Naggie – I know, I thought about that too… whether to take dispositor of L6 for the owner, and I saw the very strong mutual reception between L6 and its dispositor, and their conjunction after change of sign… Does the opposition to Saturn prohibit the conjunction?

  7. Oh, and I meant to say – yes, I took Mercury as Lord 7, “any other person,” to stand for the unknown owner for the blog post.

I just can’t stand it!! The little black mustache is FAB.

It is interesting to compare this chart to the one you posted earlier. Uranus is featured in both charts. I know, you don’t like the modern planets, but in these two charts the positioning of Uranus is strong. Here, the moon has just separated from a sextile to Uranus, which is conjunct the IC–the ‘end of the matter.’ Maybe there will a surprising or somehow unexpected conclusion to the whole deal? Like keeping the kitty?

I think the moon is also interesting in this chart. The moon is the most dignified planet in the chart, and also almuten of the 6th house, Kobe’s house. That means that the moon is the planet most free to act on Kobe’s behalf. Moon is your co-sig; so, the upshot is that you have the most say over what happens to Kobe. You’re in a strong position to influence the outcome (stronger than Kobe’s original owners, whether we take Mercury or Mars to be their sig; personally, I am inclined to take Mercury as representing the previous owners).

  9. Hi, Judy! Well, we *are* keeping him, it seems… so you’re quite right about that! :-)

I see what you’re saying about that Taurus moon – I hadn’t thought about its essential dignity & almuten status as indication of its ability to act on a given house’s behalf… hmm. The way I learned it, the planet’s essential dignity describes its “goodness” or nobility or values; its accidental dignity (such as house placement, being combust or retrograde, etc. – circumstantial qualities) describes its freedom to act. So, dignified Moon, our intentions are good; in a cadent house, we have no power to force the owner to show up.

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago and from the horary I read that the cat was looking for home. Now it shares our house with our dog :) We are really happy with the cat – dog friendship. Astrology really helps solve some problems, answer some questions.
