This is not Lady Gaga’s birth time   18 comments

Lady Gaga’s birthday is coming up on March 28th. But nobody seems able to get her birth time – at least, not until a 9:30am time showed up recently for her on Astrotheme.fr. Where did this time come from? Astrotheme didn’t publish a data source or even a Rodden rating. So I emailed them on Monday to get the source.

– Christine

(Good morning, please excuse my rusty French… Your site indicates that Lady Gaga was born at 9:30am – do you know if that’s the real time? Did somebody see her birth certificate? Thanks for your help.)

They replied,

Hi,

From an email, March 17, 2010, 5:13 PM:
“Lady Gaga was born around 9:30 am in Yonkers, NY. For her birthdate she would be Gemini rising. “

You can write there to get more explanation: liedderallesjahzeiten @ hotmail.com (the author of this information, Vallin SFAS). We think that this information is without her birth certificate.

Have a nice day.

It’s funny that Astrotheme themselves didn’t write this person for more explanation, but instead just published the data without a challenge. I emailed the mysterious Vallin SFAS for clarification. (My German is worse than my French, but that email address looks like it’s missing a letter. Shouldn’t it be “Jahrzeiten” with an R? Anyway.)

They replied on Tuesday,

Her moon is at 12 degrees Scorpio. On her birthdate that would be around 9:30 am.

Huh? Where did this “12 degree Scorpio moon” factoid come from? Did someone just pull that out of thin air? Even if it is true, the Moon would have been in that degree for two hours that day, give or take. Why be so coy about it – why not just outright say, “and this is how I know it’s a 12 Scorpio moon”?

This is not good enough. Please, please, treat our art and practice with some respect. Get sources for your data – and if you don’t have them, admit it.

  1. Dirty data…

    Thanks for posting this.

  2. Thanks. You’ve reminded me to always cite the source of my astrodata.

  3. Neeti – sure thing, thank you for reading :-)
Ellen – thanks for coming by, glad you liked the post :-)

  4. I put her birth time somewhere around 12 Noon to 1 PM only because that would have placed Progressed Venus on her Aries MC around the time (2007, I think) she left NYU and started doing burlesque. This was also a time where she admitted she spent all day perfecting her hair and make-up as well as doing drugs, both Venus-type pursuits.

This time would also place her Progressed Sun in the 10th House, shown by her recent rise to fame as well as her laser-like focus on career.

But that’s just my own opinion. I don’t have any data to back it up.

    • Hi, Jonathan – thanks for stopping by. It’s an interesting theory, and you used actual astrological reasoning to get there :-)
You know, I would disagree with you about drug use being a Venus-type pursuit. I’d give it to Moon, which I was taught rules intoxicants. If the drug use is kind of a social thing, maaaaaaybe Venus gets involved.

  5. I was curious about the time she was born as well thanks for the information.

  6. I included the drug use with Venus only because, for Lady Gaga, it was both a social thing as well as a supreme indulgence. The indulgence aspect to me feels very Venus-like when one considers the Taurus penchant for food, wine, chocolate, other avenues of achieving comfort. Drugs aren’t that big a leap from those other interests.

With the Moon, I feel it would be more of an emotional decision to escape or to bury feelings. With Venus, you just want to feel good and, in your eyes, look good doing it. LOL

So, you add the daily obsession with hair/make-up and how she flipped that very publicly into a cornerstone of her career, it would make sense that Progressed Venus was very active on her Midheaven and moving into her 10th House.

  7. Astrotheme pretty consistently puts out sketchy data. Any accurate data that they do have is usually taken from AstroDatabank. I try to avoid them at all costs at this point.

  8. Greetings.

Having Jupiter and Mercury in the 10th house would explain her worldly power and fame. Mercury is NOT weak. It is stationary, in its own bound (aka term) and with the domicile master. Mercury there shows some interesting features of course, making her left handed and having reversed brain hemispheres.

This puts the Lot of Spirit in Scorpio in the 6th whole sign house. When she turned 15, Spirit would be releasing from the angular 7th house which contains the ruler of the Lot of Fortune, Saturn who is with Antares witnessing the Hyleg and Almuten, the exaltated Sun in Aries, rejoicing and being lifted even higher by Mars in HIS exaltation. When she turned 22 Spirit began releasing with Fortune, with Mars (prostitution).

Good work on finding what is probably the correct time.

She’s definitely in the Illuminati by the way.

    Jos.

  9. Put in a birth time of around 1-2pm and you get sun trine ascendant (needs to be seen), ascendant in Leo (look at me! Look at my clothes!), ascendant trine Saturn (I love to work hard!) and Saturn trine Sun (maturity beyond her years). The hard working, level headed, performer – sounds like Gaga.

  10. Astrotheme now shows 10:55 PM for the birth time. Does anyone know the source of that?!

  11. Good investigative astrologising Christine. Astrotheme oughta be ashamed for publishing that misinformation.

  12. Astrotheme has Lady Gaga at 3 degrees Sagittarius rising, with a 10:55 PM chart. They must have revised the data from when the time gave Gemini rising. Can someone tell me whether the Sag. rising chart or the Gemini rising chart would be more reliable?

  13. Hello Christine
You’ve highlighted an on-going problem that data researchers have had for years with Astrotheme – they pinch data, don’t credit anyone, never bother to check the authenticity of data, and then they have no sourcing facility on the page. I was led to your blog because a writer has just published a piece on Gaga’s chart using the Sag Asc time. We can all discuss a chart that is later proven incorrect, but starting that way is a real show-up! Without citing a source, our professional standards plummet. Lois Rodden spent a lifetime with a number of us around the world working to raise standards in reporting and in astrological research. My advice is to avoid Astrotheme and focus on Astrodatabank. Although the latter is manned quietly these days, any updates will eventually be posted on there. If I may, I’ve attached a link to an article I wrote on the importance of data, , which has been published in different journals.
My best to you and good wishes for your blog,
    Frank

    • Frank, thank you for stopping by with your comment! I’m very glad you found your way here.

Could you reply with a link to that article of yours? The link seems to have evaporated from your comment – I apologize. Thanks!

  14. Hi Christine
Thanks very much. Here’s the article link. It’s currently on skyscript.co.uk
    Hope it works: http://skyscript.co.uk/pdf/Collecting_Astrological_Data.pdf

    Best wishes
    Frank
