Facing budget cuts, Dell Horoscope magazine is changing its name to Dell Temperament. “Writing forecasts for 12 signs every month is taking far too much effort,” explains longtime contributing writer Donna Cunningham. “Choleric, sanguine, melancholy, phlegmatic – we’ve pretty much got everyone covered this way, and we can go to press in a fraction of the time.”

John Frawley has been appointed head of Sedna Studies for the Faculty of Astrological Studies’ Summer School at Oxford. “I was actually gunning for the Centaurs job,” admits Frawley. “Or Quaoar. I just learned to spell that. Lilly doesn’t mention it, but I’m sure he would have used it if he’d known.”

This day in history: April 1, 1908, astrologer Evangeline Adams challenges Boston abolitionist Julia Ward Howe to a chowder-eating contest. The results and several delicious recipes are subsequently included in Adams‘ popular astrology manual, The Chowder Bowl of Heaven.
